Privacy Policy
Catia Lopes Psychotherapy ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who contacts the practice. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used and the rights you have over your data.
Information we collect. When you complete the contact or booking form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, language preference, location, the reason you are seeking therapy and any additional message you choose to share. We may also collect basic technical information (such as device type and pages visited) through cookies — see our Cookie Policy.
How we use it. Your information is used solely to respond to your enquiry, arrange and deliver therapy sessions, keep confidential clinical notes as required by professional bodies, and meet legal and regulatory obligations. We never sell or share your data for marketing purposes.
Legal basis. We rely on your consent when you submit the form, and on legitimate interest and legal obligation for keeping clinical records under BPS and BACP ethical standards.
How long we keep it. Enquiry data is kept for up to 12 months. Clinical records are retained for the period required by professional regulators (typically 7 years from the end of therapy, or longer where law requires).
Sharing. Your information is kept strictly confidential. It is only shared where required by law, where there is a serious risk of harm to you or others, or with a clinical supervisor in fully anonymised form.
Your rights. Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, please contact hello@catialopespsicologa.com.
Security. Data is stored on encrypted systems with access limited to Catia. The contact form is transmitted over a secure connection.
Updates. This policy may be updated occasionally. The latest version will always be available on this page.
